Brisa de Atalaia

Barra dos Coqueiros - State of Sergipe – Brasil

A NEW NEIGHBORHOOD WITH A VARIETY OF A RESIDENTIAL TYPES AND SERVICES

An oceanfront community development on 93 hectares seven minutes from the center of Aracaju the state capitol of Sergipe. A variety of housing types and lots are designed to make this the most attractive, environmentally conscious, yet best integrated community in the north-east of Brazil. The architecture accommodates the building skills of the place. Each structure sits respectfully in the natural landscape of lagoons and hills. Over 30% of site is protected as nature preserve wetlands in order to preserve the ecosystem and comfortable ambient temperature. The project is organized along a central street and promenade that begins at the entry plaza and continues to the beachfront club. The entry plaza with it’s weekly market is surrounded by shops, restaurants and cafes, on the ground level and loft units above. The Club Houses and residential structures all promote an indoor/outdoor lifestyle and the project challenges the increasingly automobile oriented and high energy consumption lifestyle emerging in Brazil. It also focuses on creating health daily living patterns for an increasingly sedentary Brazilian population.
